Summer

This has been a couple of busy weeks for me and my kids. We went to Utah and attended a family reunion at Bear Lake. We had a blast riding boats, wave runners, and a 4 wheeler. It was fun to see all my family and hang out with them and catch up on what was going on. I think we were only missing 6 people out of the whole family. So it was a great turn out.  So over a week ago I left Tabby in Utah and Nathan and Mikela and I headed back to Washington as Nate had football camp and Mikela and I had Girls camp.  It was very hard for me to leave Tabby and many tears were shed.  Let’s just say I have talk to Tabby at least once a day if not more sometimes  she would call me or I would call her.  Once I was back in Washington we started getting packed for the 2 different camps and getting ready for it and trying to work between the 2 trips.

Nathan had to pack his pads and clothes to hang out in and don’t forget the snack food and X Box to survive the nights. Each player also had to answer some question and draw a picture of it on a shield.  Here are Nathan’s answers

1 What is your goal for the next year .and he drew a happy face.

2 if you only had a year to live what would you do. He drew a hamburger as he wants to find the best tasting one.

3. What animal represent you? He drew a wolf

4 Who is your hero? He drew a stick figure of a girl and wrote Mom on her dress.  When Nate told me that I was speechless all I could do was give him a hug. It made me feel so good that 16 ½ year old son thinks that much of me.

There was one other question but I can’t remember what it was. The coach kept the shields and is going to put them all up in the locker room. I asked Nate that at the end of football season could he please get the shield back as I want to keep it.

So while Nate is packing Mikela and I are also packing for Girls Camp. We filled my Expedition up with camping supplies but left enough space for Heathers thing.  All I have to say is thank you Heather for packing light. It was unbelievable how much stuff I needed to survive a week taking care of other campers.  I was in a unit with 10 Young Women and Jodi (Thank you Jodi for being my unit buddy) and was also the 3rd year certification specialist. It was fun and I meet a lot of girls and leader and hung out with some of my friends for the week. Mikela had a wonderful time and she wants to go back! She got to be a Lert  (Locamora Emergency Response Team) victim that usually first year camper don’t get to do but I was going to be a victim  and asked if she could do it too. She also got to treat a Lert victim. She had so much fun that after unpacking the car she took a 6 hour nap.

Now it times to get Nathan ready for Scout camp. Smile

Embarrassing moment

Summer has finally arrived in Seattle. Well at least for this week. You never know what the weather might do around here. Well through all my trials over the last week. I actually had a very funny moment.  A couple of girlfriends of mine were going to take their kids to the   neighborhood pool and hang out and we thought we would join them. I thought this would be a great time to start working on my tan. I was lying on my stomach watching the girls swim and talking to Kerri. So it was time to flip over and sit so I could still see the girls playing in the water and Kerri said I was hanging out. I look down and low and behold my left boob is hanging out for the world to see. SurprisedI was so glad it was Kerri telling me this and not a stranger. I fix the problem while I was laughing my head off. At least I was laughing and not crying. So mental note next time make sure the straps are tight on my bathing suit.

Sorry there are no pictures of this advent and I wasn’t going to re-enact it. LOLSmile

Where's the SUN

It's June and I feel like it's been forever sense I have seen the sun. I would love to have to wear my sungalss to be outside.  When I was little June meant wearing shorts and t-shirt and sandals. It meant swimming in the Pool and just enjoying the sunshine. Last year I remember   seeing the sun a lot more and wearing summer clothes. Today I'm wearing a long sleve shirt and pants. Last month we had a couple of very nice days and I love it. I thought the warm weather was here. How wrong I was . A friend of mine said that every 10 years WA has a cold summer. I don't mind the cold I just want to see the sun.  Maybe next week.

Mikela's Birthday

Mikela is now officially twelve. After many changes we finally decided on a slumber party with only 12 girls. Mikela started her birthday with taking a big balloon that said Happy Birthday on it. Took her last test for the WASL and enjoyed the rest of the day of school. She came home and open her Presents from the family and we went to go get supplies for the Party. Just want to quickly add that the boys left for a YM camp. We show up home with the first guest in our drive way. Mikela was excited that the real party had started. Wow could girls really make that much noise? Yes  They ate danced went to the park, jump on the trampoline, open present which the most common gift was a Webkin. They rolled out their sleeping bags around 11:30 and stared talking the night away. I’m not sure what time they feel asleep as I went to my room at 11:30 but I did hear talking at 2:00 am  but did hear anything after that. They all woke up happy and they ate breakfast and then home.

After we cleaned the house we hit a couple of stores that were celebrating the Webkins Extravaganza. The girls played some games and won some fun prizes.  That afternoon the Beehives came and Heart Attack Mikela’s room.  I think she was really surprised, she knew it was coming but didn’t know when.

I’m happy that I survived! Hopefully this week will be a much calmer week, a quiet week. But you never know.

Hey Wendy girl!
Those are fantastic pictures.  I am so envious that you got to go Whale Watching!  I can't think of anyone who would be more fun in Hawaii than you, and it looks like your kids had a blast.  That Tabby is so totally your little Mini-me!  I especially like the last picture of the kids all crashed out on the way home.  TFS!!!
